Terms of business

How projects work, written so you can actually read them. These apply unless we agree something different in writing for your project.

Quotes

Every quote sets out the scope, the pages, the features, the price, the expected timescale and what is included. Quotes are valid for 30 days. The price does not change during the project unless you ask for something outside the agreed scope, and I will always tell you the cost before doing that work.

Payment

50% of the agreed price is payable before work starts, and the remaining 50% before the site goes live. Payment is by bank transfer. Invoices are due within 7 days.

Revisions

Each package includes up to 2 rounds of reasonable revisions before launch. A round means you send me your collected feedback and I work through it. That covers the normal back-and-forth: wording, colours, layout adjustments, swapping images.

Adding pages, adding functionality or changing direction after the design is agreed sits outside the package and is quoted separately. This is what keeps low prices workable rather than turning a £140 website into three weeks of redesign.

Timescales

Most straightforward business websites are ready for review in around 5–7 working days once I have everything I need from you. That last part matters: the clock effectively pauses while I am waiting on content, photos or feedback. Larger projects are given their own timescale in the quote.

What I need from you

Your business information, any logo and photos you have, and reasonably timely feedback. If you do not have written copy, I will draft it, but I need the underlying facts about your business to do that. Projects with no response from the client for 60 days may be closed, with the deposit treated as payment for work done.

Content you supply

You confirm you have the right to use any text, images, logos or other material you send me. If you supply something you do not own the rights to, that liability sits with you. Where I source licensed imagery on your behalf, I will tell you the cost first.

Ownership

Once the final payment clears, the completed website is yours. Your domain is registered in your name and stays yours throughout. I may show the work in my portfolio and refer to you as a client unless you ask me not to, which is entirely fine.

Hosting and care plans

Care plans are monthly and include hosting. They can be cancelled at any time with 30 days’ notice, and cancelling does not affect your ownership of the site. If you leave, I will help move the site to your new host rather than make it difficult.

Cancellation

You can cancel a project at any point. The deposit covers work already carried out and is non-refundable, but you will not be charged for work not yet done. If I cannot complete a project for any reason, I will refund anything paid for work not delivered.

Liability

I take real care over the work, but no website can be guaranteed to be free of every fault. My liability is limited to the amount you paid for the project. I cannot be held responsible for losses arising from third-party services, hosting outages, or search engine ranking changes.

Search rankings

I build sites on solid technical foundations for search, and I set up the things that help. I do not and will not guarantee any particular position in Google results, because nobody honestly can.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
