What this site does not use

There are no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, no cross-site profiling and no third-party marketing scripts. Nothing here follows you to other websites, and nothing is sold or shared with an ad network.

Strictly necessary storage

One item is stored in your browser: your answer to the cookie question itself, kept in local storage so you are not asked again on every page. It contains only your choice and the date you made it. Nothing about it identifies you, and it never leaves your device.

Optional analytics

If you accept, Google Analytics loads and records anonymised information about which pages get visited and roughly where visitors come from. IP addresses are anonymised. I use it for one purpose: working out which pages are actually useful and which are wasting everybody’s time.

If you decline, the analytics script is never loaded at all. It is not loaded and then disabled, and there is no invisible fallback. Declining costs you nothing: every part of the site works identically either way.

Changing your mind

You can change your answer at any time. Clearing your browser storage also resets the question.

Why there might be no banner

If analytics has not been configured, no banner appears, because asking permission for something that does not happen would be pointless.
